Tourism Development
Tourism Development means the improvement of the tourism situation. This improvement can be done in different ways. It might be promoting the region in a different way, introducing a new kind of tourism, e.g. eco-tourism, using sustainable tourism, ect. Everything that improves tourism and brings it forward belongs to tourism development.
Tourism Promotion
Tourism Promotion is activities and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists.
Developing strategies to expand tourism, operating tourism promotion agencies and funding marketing of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists are also parts of tourism promotion.
Source of funding in these activities
The sources of tourism funding are classified as general revenue or a special tax. That means public funding is the source of funding for tourism development and tourism promotion.
